Attend a Circle: What to Expect

Our community visible mending programs are in-person circles where we meet to learn to mend and share stories together. “Circles” are a term used when people would gather to craft or quilt together as a community. We sit around one long table and everyone introduces themselves. We usually have a question or prompt like – tell us the back story behind your treasured clothing. We will offer advice and share how to give your clothing new life using the art of visible mending—where creative stitchwork can be seen and celebrated.

No experience or supplies are needed. Just a willingness to learn, create, and connect in community. Bring a piece of clothing or fabric item to mend or practice on a sample square that we provide.

We bring all supplies and veteran Mend-tors will be there to help you plan your mend and get you started.
