Textile Tour & Work Party

1–2 minutes

Hey friends! Before we all slip into that cozy Thanksgiving slowdown, a quick little nudge about our upcoming Art on the Mend happenings. We’ve still got a few seats left for tomorrow’s Textile Museum tour (yes, it’s as cool as it sounds), and there’s a Work Party on Monday for anyone ready to roll up their sleeves. All the good details are below—come hang with us! ❤️

Saturday, November 22 11 AM GWU Textile Museum Tour 👘

The George Washington University Textile Museum is going to give Art on the Mend a guided tour of their exhibit entitled Source Material: Lessons in Responsible Fashion. The tour will be one hour and the rest of the museum will be open to explore without a guide. The Textile Museum suggests a donation of $8, but all are welcome even without a donation.

701 21st Street, NW, Washington, DC 20052

Closest Metro Station: Foggy Bottom-GWU
(Blue, Orange, and Silver lines)

Monday, November 24 2-4 PM Work Party ✂️

We’ll cut upcycled denim into patches to help keep Art on the Mend programs free for everyone. These patches will be used in our workshops for people repairing their jeans. Our Community Visible Mending Circle at Cherrydale Library is every Monday 2-4 PM thru December. Cherrydale Library is at 2190 North Military Rd, Arlington, Virginia 22207.

Thanks for being part of Art on the Mend!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
