Work Parties are one of my favorite ways to come together as a community. Think of them as cozy, hands-on gatherings where we team up to prepare materials that make our Visible Mending Circles possible.
Tonight, we will be preparing for our upcoming darning program at ArlingtonWeaves. We’ll be cutting and upcycling donated clothing to be part of a community-mended art piece using hand-woven tapestries by ArlingtonWeaves artists.
We’ll have everything set up for you, so there’s no need to bring a thing—just yourself and your willingness to be part of something bigger.

Can you darn? Helpers Needed on October 8
I could use a few people to help with our October 8th artist workshop at ArlingtonWeaves as part of Spin Weave Week. If you know how to darned freehand or using the SpeedWeve loom and are available anytime between 10-2, please email me at alison@artonthemend.org to join me.

We All Belong Mural Unveiling
We had our first community art making program at George Mason University’s unveiling party for their new mural tapestry – We All Belong by MasPaz. I loved hanging out with everyone and creating in community. It was great to see people connect, find common interests, and share their stories. This is why I do this. 🥰 Thanks again, Mason Exhibitions, Patriot Packout, and all of the partners, for the collaboration!

Hope to see you soon!
