We All Belong

We All Belong is a participatory textile project exploring the places, people, and experiences that give us a sense of belonging. Created in conjunction with the artist Mas Paz and the unveiling of his mural entitled We All Belong at George Mason University, participants drew images on reclaimed fabric from upcycled clothing, shared the stories behind their drawings, and stitched their individual pieces together with sashiko thread to create a collective banner. The finished work became a community-made tapestry of memory, identity, and connection, demonstrating how individual stories can be woven into a shared expression of belonging.
