Rip. Repair. Repeat.

Rip. Repair. Repeat. was a participatory visible mending workshop presented in conjunction with the Invisible Skate Theory exhibition on belonging, visibility, and skateboarding culture at Mason Exhibitions. Gathered around a shared table, participants learned visible mending techniques using sashiko thread and upcycled textiles while responding to the question, How do you like to create? By sharing creative practices—from singing and songwriting to painting, writing, and dance—the workshop shifted the focus from artistic skill to creative expression and connection. Participants also transformed traced imagery from the exhibition’s crowdsourced graffiti wall into stitched designs, creating new work inspired by the voices of the community.
